The famous Dakar rally is held in Saudi Arabia between 1 and 14 January 2022. The race started in Ha’il, and the drivers will arrive in Jeddah, going through canyons and cliffs in the Neom region, passing by the Red Sea coastline, into to stretches of dunes surrounding Riyadh, with a lot more action on sand dunes in the Empty Quarter. The route consists of one prologue stage and 12 normal stages.
Q8Oils sponsors the team of Lionel Baud and Jean-Pierre Garcin. They drive a Peugeot 3008 DKR, from the PH Sport team. Lionel Baud is participating for the 3rd time, and is convinced that he will drive a better result than last year, when he ended 22nd in the SSV class. He forms a team together with one of the most experienced French drivers, Jean-Pierre Garcin, who finished in the top 10 several times over the past years. The powerduo also participated in the Maroc rally in 2021, where they finished on the 39th place, after having occupied the 6th place for a long period. With their shared experience, the team aims to end in the top 15 of this years Dakar rally. We wish them all the best!
