Q8Oils joins COGEN Europe to accelerate sustainable energy solutions

As of 1 April 2025, Q8Oils is proud to announce its membership in COGEN Europe, the leading European association dedicated to promoting efficient and sustainable energy through cogeneration. By joining this network of industry leaders, Q8Oils reaffirms its commitment to supporting the energy transition with innovative lubricant solutions that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of energy systems. This step builds on Q8Oils’ long-standing involvement with COGEN Vlaanderen, the Flemish branch of the organisation, where the company has been an active member for several years.

About COGEN Europe

COGEN Europe, the European Association for the Promotion of Cogeneration, is the cross-sectoral voice of Europe’s cogeneration industry. Established in 1993, its mission is to work with EU institutions and stakeholders to shape better policies and remove administrative, regulatory, and market barriers to the wider use of cogeneration across Europe. The association currently has 55 members, including 16 national associations and 39 companies spanning the entire cogeneration value chain — from technology manufacturers to end-users and consultancies.

COGEN Europe and its members are committed to developing and implementing a resilient, decentralised, and carbon-neutral European energy system by 2050. Cogeneration solutions play a key role in this transition, supporting the uptake of renewable energy sources and complementing other clean technologies. The aim is to empower households, communities, and businesses to generate electricity, heat, and cooling in ways that are clean, efficient, reliable, and affordable.

A Perfect Match

With a globally recognised portfolio of over 1,000 high-performance lubricant products, Q8Oils plays a vital role in optimising operations across the industrial and power generation sectors — including critical cogeneration applications. As the official lubricant partner of INNIO Jenbacher, Q8Oils delivers tailor-made solutions that meet the rigorous demands of modern gas engines. One such innovation is Jenbacher S Oil 40, a premium synthetic gas engine oil developed in collaboration with INNIO to maximise efficiency, extend service intervals, and reduce maintenance costs — especially in demanding environments such as biogas and landfill gas operations.

Supported by strong in-house R&D and technical expertise, Q8Oils also offers value-added services including boroscopy inspections, helping customers achieve optimal performance and long-term reliability. This commitment to technical innovation, operational excellence, and expert support aligns seamlessly with the mission of COGEN Europe.

“At Q8Oils, we have a strong focus on the energy and power generation sector, with advanced solutions tailored for cogeneration. Joining COGEN Europe is a natural step in our mission to drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in decentralised energy systems. We look forward to contributing our expertise to this dynamic network and supporting Europe’s decarbonisation goals,”
— Jesse Claessens, Commercial Strategy Manager at Q8Oils

Hans Korteweg, Managing Director of COGEN Europe, welcomed the partnership:
“We are delighted to welcome Q8Oils to our community. Their specialist knowledge in lubricant technology will further reinforce our shared commitment to developing high-efficiency energy systems.
