There are many ranges and products within the Q8 Bach R family, each designed for a specific purpose. The products within each range each have similar lubrication characteristics, but are differentiated by their viscosity, which is indicated by the number in the product name. Viscosity is critical because it influences the coefficient of friction, cooling characteristics, washing properties and annealing performance. Our experts can advise the optimal viscosity depending on the parameters of the cold rolling process.
To achieve the best result, customers may need to use a combination of different rolling oils within a product range, for example to maintain the correct right viscosity when topping up an oil bath. Q8 Bach RF is a range of standard performance neat cold rolling fluids with excellent oxidation
stability and anti-rust properties. They are suitable for use with all types of rolling mills and a wide range of metals.
Q8 Bach RFX
Q8 Bach RFX offers a higher lubricity level and improved extreme pressure performance compared to the Q8 Bach RF range. Suitable for all types of rolling mills and for use with a wide range of metals, these lubricants also have good oxidation stability and anti-rust properties.
Q8 Bach RSB
This new product range is based on proven Q8 Bach RSA additive technology, but uses the latest base oils. Free of sulphur and aromatics, and with very low carbon emissions, Q8 Bach RSB oils are extremely safe to use and minimise impact on the environment.
Q8 Bach RSA
These high performance neat cold rolling fluids are used for ferrous metals, such as stainless steel, as well as copper, copper alloys and other metals. The extreme pressure additives make Q8 Bach RSA ideal for the manufacturing of metal strip, while reducing roll wear and improving surface finish. These lubricants provide excellent oxidation stability and anti-rust properties, which ensure outstanding lubrication and continuous protection. They are specifically designed for high speed reversing mills, but can also be used on all cold rolling mills.
Q8 Bach RSD
With a higher flash point, combined with the latest technology of high purity synthesised base oils, these high performance neat cold rolling oils deliver an advanced safety profile and lower carbon emissions.
Their extreme pressure additives make them ideal for metal strip manufacturing, while reducing roll wear and improving surface finish. They also offer excellent oxidation stability and anti-rust
properties.
Q8 Bach RSD lubricants can be used in all types of cold rolling mills, but are specifically designed for high speed reversing mills and are typically used in cluster type reversing mills where the bearings are also lubricated with the cold rolling fluid. They are suitable for use with ferrous metals, such as stainless steel, and also for copper, copper alloys and other metals.
